Day 01 – Arrival in Sofia. Dinner and overnight at 4-star hotel in Sofia.

Day 02 – After breakfast departure to Rila Monastery. Visit of the largest and one of the oldest Bulgarian monasteries (10 th C.), under UNESCO protection. Drive from Rila to Plovdiv enjoying the scenery of Rila and Rhodope Mountains. Dinner and overnight at 4-star hotel in Plovdiv.

Day 03 – Half-day sightseeing of the old part of the town with beautiful houses from the Bulgarian Revival period (18 th – 19 th C.). Entrance to the Ethnographic museum, to Roman theatre, to St.St. Konstantine and Elena church. Drive to Burgas. Dinner and overnight at 4-star hotel in Burgas.

Day 04 – Drive along the coast to the town of Nessebar, picturesquely situated on a small peninsula with beautiful old houses and ruins of medieval churches, a monument of the UNESCO World heritage list. Drive to Varna – capital of the Black Sea coast. Visit of the Roman Baths and the Holy Virgin Cathedral. Dinner and overnight at 4-star hotel in Varna.

Day 05 – Sightseeing of Varna with entrance to Archeological museum. Drive to the town of Shumen. On the way – visit of Madara horseman-relief on the rocks (9 th C.), included in UNESCO World Heritage List. Sightseeing of Shumen–Tombul Mosque (18 th C), the Monument of the Founders of the Bulgarian State. Dinner and overnight at 4-star hotel in Shumen.

Day 06 – Departure to Veliko Turnovo. On the way – visit of Preslav museum (exhibiting original gold treasure from the 10 th C). Arrival in Veliko Turnovo – the capital of the Second Bulgarian Kingdom (12 th-14 th C.), picturesquely situated on the hills at the banks of the meandering river Jantra. Sightseeing of Arbanassi – 17 th C. fortified village; entrance to Konstanzaliev’s house (17 th C.) and Jesus Christ’s Nativity Church which interior is covered in frescos depicting 2000 scenes. Visit of the medieval fortress of Tsarevets hill. Dinner and overnight at 4-star hotel in Veliko Turnovo.

Day 07 – Drive to Sofia. On the way visit of the Troyan monastery. Arrival in Sofia. Sightseeing of the capital town – Al. Nevski Cathedral, St Sofia church, Ruins of Serdica, St. George Rotunda. Dinner with folklore show in a tavern. Overnight at 4-star hotel in Sofia.
