Bulgaria Highlights with fixed departures

Day 01 – Arrival at Sofia airport. Transfer to hotel. Overnight at hotel.

Day 02 – Departure to Troyan monastery “Assumption of Holy Virgin” (17th C.), located in Stara Planina Mountain and famous with its painted church, built in 1835. Continue to the town of Lovech and walking tour in Varosha – the old quarter. Visit the Fortress and the Covered Bridge  (19 th C.) – the main symbol of the town. Drive to the town of Ruse, located at Danube river. Overnight at hotel in Ruse.

Day 03 – Sightseeing of Ruse – walking tour in the city center including the History museum, the ruins of the Fortress Sexaginta Prista, the Art Gallery and Holy Tirnity church (17th C.) with its museum exhibition. In the afternoon visit of the Rock monasteries by Ivanovo, included in the UNESCO World Heritage Register. The monastery complex consisted of over 30 churches, inhabited by monks from the 13th C. to the 17th C. Transfer to Veliko Turnovo. Check-in at hotel. Overnight.

Day 04 – After breakfast – sightseeing of Veliko Turnovo - the ancient capital of the Second Bulgarian Kingdom (12th -14th C.), picturesquely situated on the hills at the banks of the meandering river Jantra. Visit of the medieval fortress of Tsarevets hill and of Samovodska charshiya – handy craft street. Sightseeing of Arbanassi – 17th C. fortified village with entrance to Konstanzaliev’s house (17th C.) and Jesus Christ’s Nativity Church which interior is covered in frescos depicting 2000 scenes. Overnight at the same hotel.

Day 05 – Drive to Plovdiv via Shipka Pass.  Stop at Shipka monument for pictures. Visit to the Shipka Memorial church with golden domes. Entrance to the Thracian tomb in Kazanlak, UNESCO World Heritage monument. Arrival in Plovdiv in the afternoon. Walking in the old part of the town with beautiful old houses from the Bulgarian Revival period (18th – 19th C.). Entrance to the St. Konstantin and Elena church and to the Roman Theatre. Overnight at hotel in Plovdiv.

Day 06 – Departure to Rila Monastery across the magnificent nature of the Rila and Rhodope Mountains. Stop at winter resort Borovets. Visit of the largest and one of the oldest Bulgarian monasteries (10th C.), included in the UNESCO World Heritage List with medieval defence tower from the 14th C. and fine frescoes. Departure to the capital Sofia. Overnight at hotel in Sofia.

Day 07 – Full-day sightseeing of the capital town – St. Sofia statue, St. George Rotunda, Ruins of Serdica, National Theater, Russian church, Al. Nevski Cathedral and St. Sofia church. In the afternoon entrance to Boyana Church (UNESCO site) and National History museum. Overnight at the same hotel.

Day 08 – Transfer to the airport. Departure.

Rate per person in twin room - 790.00 EUR, single room - 1 095.00 EUR

The rates include:
